This Merlot is ripe and full and a month spent in oak barriques has added depth and interest to its well rounded sweet fruit. A very accomplished wine from Lazio, the area around Rome (as Serie A fans will be aware!).

Like the Valpolicella, this is an engaging blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara but lighter and almost rosé-like. It's juicy and refreshing with delicate flavours of plum and cranberry, and is a wine best enjoyed while still young (that's the wine not the drinker!).

A blend of mainly Sangiovese with some Canaiolo from the San Vito estate in the hills of Tuscany west of Florence, the Chianti Putto region. Matured in oak for 8 months and bottled 9 months after the harvest this is a medium bodied red with a fresh raspberry-fruity flavour and clear ruby-red colour.
