The Milltons are justly renowned for this wine, which is made from high quality fully ripened grapes with aromas of waxy pears and white pepper, a rich fruity palate with flavours of almond and honeysuckle, well structured wood and pleasing acidity, and a lingering finish with a hint of cloves. The wine was aged for 6 months in wood before blending and bottling, and has justly been described as ?a complex beauty?. A top notch Chenin blanc from NZ, and the ?flagship wine? from James Millton. Grape varieties: Chenin Blanc 12.5% Rich fruit and fennel. Great with roast chicken, salsa verde and ... roasted potatoes. 5 stars. Fiona Sims, SHE Apr 2007.
