Regent Dry Red, Sedlescombe Vineyard 2006 |

Regent is the result of a five-year project to produce a fullbodied wine that could dispel the criticism often levelled at English reds of being 'a bit thin and weedy'. The 2005 is drinking very well now. For this vintage 20% Pinot Noir was added to the Regent giving a softer, fruity character. In terms of colour and body however it's clearly Regent. The wine spent 5 months in barrique before bottling in July 2006. It's a juicy, accessible red with plum and cherry on the nose. In the mouth it's medium-bodied, sweet fruited and fairly supple enhanced by gentle oak. The 2006 vintage will see return to Regent (with just 2% Triomphe d?Alsace in the blend). Grape varieties: Regent/Pinot Noir (2005) Regent/Triomphe Alsace (2006) 12%
