A classic Chablis Chardonnay - with a more aromatic and typically minerally approach than the Petit Chablis. Whereas its little brother comes from the richer soils of the plateau, the Chablis comes from the stonier hillside vineyards where the vine roots are embedded into the rock. The resulting wine is less acidic, fuller bodied and more powerful than the Petit Chablis (which expresses the fruit as much as terroir). Dry, rounded and slightly citric. Grape varieties: Chardonnay 12% Good, tangy, minerally effort with that archetypal greenygold colour and a cool, almost metallic edge to it. This would work anywhere and its price tag makes it competitive. Significantly better than many Chablis that are only fractionally cheaper. SOMMELIER WINE AWARDS 2007 Intense nose: apple. Fruit ripe: acid well balanced. Long finish. THE WORLD'S BEST WINES 2006 BRONZE MEDAL - INTERNATIONAL WINE CHALLENGE 2006 (2005 vintage)
