Superb McLaren Vale red where the muscly masculinity of Shiraz is softened by the silky feminity and elegance of Viognier (representing just 7% of the blend). Fermented in mixture of old and new French and American oak it?s a deep dark red wine with bright purple edges. On the nose, spice and black pepper, dark red fruits and a whiff of violets. The palate is full and even, balanced between rich red fruit and chocolate. More than the sum of its parts, this is a well-balanced wine with wonderful perfume, richness, length and persistence. Screwcap closure Grape varieties: Shiraz/Viognier 14.5% Nice bright, ripe rich fruit. Elegant acidity and structure. THE WORLD's BEST WINES 2006 Seamless rich blackberry fruit and spicy oak.
