Shiraz-Carignane, Bonterra 2004 |

Reminiscent of a gently spicy Rhone red with its inherent, inviting warmth of fruit. Bags of raspberry, cranberry and plum here and typical Bonterra accessibility. A soft, fruit-driven blend of big, fleshy Amador Syrah (57%) and old vine Carignan from the Mendocino hills, with a little sangiovese from Sanel Valley. The vintage was cool and extended to achieve maximum grape maturity. The broad, warm fruit of this wine adds allure to tomato based dishes - pasta, piza, parmigiani. Grape varieties: Shiraz/Carignan/Sangiovese 14% SILVER MEDAL - BIOFACH 2007
