An elegant southern blend from a rising appellation. Replacing the more serious, oaky and expensive Chateau version of this estate's wine, the Domaine is altogether more accessible drinking. A delicious blend of three grape varieties vinified separately with around a third of the wine aged in oak barriques to add further complexity and a softer, more respectful edge. It's a typically rustic example with a spicy fruit cinnamon nose and dark berry fruit flavours to match. The tannins are gentle and well-balanced and the result is a great food wine that's also relaxed enough for drinking on its own. Although ready now this is a wine which can also be aged for 5 years or more. Grape varieties: Syrah/Grenache/Carignan 12% SILVER MEDAL - CONCOURS VINS BIO 2006
