Background
Domaine de l'Ecu is located in the hamlet of Le Landreau in Sèvre et Maine, an excellent region for the production of Muscadet. The Bossard family has been producing wine there for 5 generations.

The estate became organic in 1975, and biodynamic in 1986. Guy Bossard makes his own compost using algae, forest brush and basalt. He produces 3 different cuvées, each masterfully crafted to highlight the expression of the specific soil types.
 Background

The estate
Guy Bossard farms 17 hectares (42 acres) entirely using biodynamic methods. The average age of the vines is 45 years. His wines are fermented "sur lie", on the yeast, to prevent oxidation and impart full flavour and a slight spritz to the finished product. The estate

Organic philosophy
Guy started working in the vineyards when he was 14 years old. To him the choice for biodynamic methods naturally follows from respect for nature and respect for the customers health. The choice for biodynamics is also driven by a desire to further improve the qualty of his wines.

In his spare time Guy enjoys listening to music, meeting up with friends and gardening, using biodynamic methods only of course. When he gets the opportunity he loves exploring new countries and new vineyards.
