Chenin Blanc Barrel Fermented, Gisborne, Millton Vineyard 2009 Ref: 032

The Milltons are justly renowned for this wine, which is made from high quality fully ripened grapes with aromas of waxy pears and white pepper, a rich fruity palate with flavours of almond and honeysuckle, well structured wood and pleasing acidity, and a lingering finish with a hint of cloves. The wine was aged for 6 months in wood before blending and bottling, and has justly been described as ‘a complex beauty’. A top notch Chenin blanc from NZ, and the ‘flagship wine’ from James Millton.

Good clarity with a sweet fresh nose. The immediate taste was delicious with a balance of sweetness and acidity, which developed but disappeared fairly rapidly.
