Stefan Sander worked in vineyards around the world before settling back into the family estate. His grandfather brought organic viticulture to the vineyards (and winery) in the 50s after noticing how his wife’s MS condition improved after he stopped using chemical fertilisers and started gardening organically. Stefan has now moved towards biodynamics. His wines are clean and expressive, perfect for ‘German doubters’.
Vineyard size 25 hectares. Organic since 1982.

Blanc de Noir, Sander
This charming ‘blush’ wine was made at the suggestion of Stefan Sander’s father who loves white Merlot from Switzerland. The best grapes are selected for this wine ahead of the normal red grape harvest. Light salmon pink in colour with distinct peppery and redcurrant aromas. It’s a refreshing bone-dry wine with typically Merlot plum flavours and great acidity which is carefully bottled to retain a hint of fizz. Stefan recommends trying it with shellfish or grilled calamari.
