Grande Maison
The ‘Grande Maison’ is a fortified house constructed by the English during the 100 Years War. Thierry Després retired recently and Jean-Louis and his son Benjamin Chabrol have taken over these lovingly restored vineyards where they are keen to continue working in the same organic way. Their range includes delicious Monbazillacs: truly elegant and deserving sweet wines.
Vineyard size 14.5 hectares. Organic since 1993.

Description
‘Cuvée Harmonie’ Côtes de Bergerac AC
A wine that’s been nudging our list for several years and which has finally proved too tempting to exclude. The south-facing vineyard is planted with a high density of vines and, although not certified as such, is largely tended according to biodynamical principles. Only fully mature grapes are selected, and after fermentation the wine is barrel-aged for 18 months before bottling, unfined and unfiltered. An intense wine, with a full and fruity approach, a delicate, silky texture and a long, persistent finish. Also available as half bottle.
