The Spinolas, one of Europe’s oldest families, are traceable to the 9th century. Massimiliana Spinola took over the estate (and castle!) on the death of her father and immediately applied bio-dynamic methods.

Gavi ‘Titouan’ No Sulphur Added DOCG, Castello di Tassarolo
Titouan is the name of the heavy horse that Henry Finzi Constantine works with in the Castello di Tassarolo vineyards. Far better than a tractor that would flatten the topsoil, Titouan can help keep the soil light so water drainage is improved amongst other things. Passionate about biodynamics and with similar characteristic to the heavy horse ‘Titouan’ (persevering and not afraid of hard work) Henry Finzi Constantine has grown the most perfect Cortese grapes that make this subtle, soft white with great finesse and a long rewarding finish. A richer and fuller style of Gavi than the Spinola. Highly recommended!
