Stefan Sander
Stefan Sander worked in vineyards around the world before settling back into the family estate. His grandfather brought organic viticulture to the vineyards (and winery) in the 50s after noticing how his wife’s MS condition improved after he stopped using chemical fertilisers and started gardening organically. Stefan has now moved towards biodynamics. His wines are clean and expressive, perfect for ‘German doubters’.
Vineyard size 25 hectares. Organic since 1982.

Description
Grauer Burgunder Chardonnay, Sander
A very harmonious blend from this excellent producer. The addition of Chardonnay has proved a smart move – the classic crystalised fruit notes of Pinot Gris are beautifully held by the tropical angle of Chardonnay. The result is a wine rich in flavour with subtle creamy textures and a long finish. It’s a neat meeting of orchard fruit – think apple and orange – and subtle nutty tones. A hint of spice, ripe acidity and minerality. One for your washed rind cheeses as well as a variety of spicier dishes.
