Jacques Frelin
We first met Jacques Frelin In Paris in 1987 and this pioneer of the French organic wine movement has been our most important supplier almost from that moment. Originally from the Vendée region he worked initially with his now ex-wife at Domaine de Clairac, then with Louis Andrieu and Olivier Azan. He now runs the operation single-handedly but with the backing of his old friend Frédéric Lachaux.
Organic vineyards represented – 40 hectares. Organic since 1983.

Description
Languedoc La Borda No Sulphur Added
This impressive and biodynamic Languedoc red comes from vineyards close to the Etang de Bages, on the Mediterranean coast south of Narbonne. Vinified without added sulphur and bottled unfiltered, it’s a great new signing for our NSA wine squad. Dark red in colour with purple hints. On the nose a mix of ripe red berries and light vanilla. The palate reveals good structure, some spice, dark fruit and silky tannins. Serve with boeuf bourguignon, leg of lamb, vegetable tajine or cheese.
