Annabel Thomas started Nc’nean to change the way the world thinks about Scottish whisky; To create a product which could exist in harmony with this planet we call home. After leaving her job in London in 2013, she spent four years raising funds and building the distillery from the ground up on the west coast of Scotland in Oban. Distilling since 2017, 2020 saw the launch of their first ever whisky. With an approach that focuses on sustainability, a responsible carbon footprint and using only local produce, Nc’Nean’s ethos is to use the land to produce a quality product, ‘made by nature, not by rules’.
