Château Beau Rivage & Clos la Boheme
Two lovely reds from neighbouring Bordeaux estates. Beau Rivage is a rare Médoc Bordeaux Supérieur and if its vineyards were a kilometre or two closer to Margaux it would sport a much higher price tag. Clos la Bohème is a ‘Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc’ which demonstrates the quality offered by Médoc’s second tier.

Bordeaux Supérieur, Chateau Beau Rivage
At first glance ‘just another Bordeaux Supérieur’…but look further: this is a class act from a gifted producer whose vineyards straddle the Médoc Appellation. Cover the label and it could actually be Médoc. Rich blackcurrant/cassis fruit with gentle vanilla, soft black pepper notes and expertly handled oak. Merlot predominates in the blend, backed by four other red Bordeaux varieties.
