Domaine Azan
The genial Olivier Azan bought his first 15 hectares in 1981. His family had apple orchards (which were not at all organic) east of Montpellier. Olivier wasn’t in tune with this form of agriculture and chose instead to work in wine. By chance he was involved in the creation of the Picpoul appellation and to this day is the only organic Picpoul producer. He’s become one of the mainstays of organic wine-making in Languedoc.
Vineyard size 70 hectares. Organic since 1985.
