We first met Jacques Frelin In Paris in 1987 and this pioneer of the French organic wine movement has been our most important supplier almost from that moment. Originally from the Vendée region he worked initially with his now ex-wife at Domaine de Clairac, then with Louis Andrieu and Olivier Azan. He now runs the operation single-handedly but with the backing of his old friend Frédéric Lachaux.
Organic vineyards represented – 40 hectares. Organic since 1983.

Organic Pinot Noir ‘La Marouette’ IGP Pays d’Oc
This Organic Pinot Noir has a very ripe character. This is evident on the nose whilst the palate is sensual and fairly full with a more solid backbone than many.
In many ways this is classic French country Pinot without any hint of the astringency which can make the variety at best impenetrable and at worst unpleasant. The whole is supported by fine well-integrated oak from its fermentation and the result is surprisingly refined.
A beautiful crimson red with rich aromas of cherry and blackberries. Delicate and harmonious. Perfect with chicken dishes and Asian cuisine. A real crowd pleaser.
