Stefan Sander worked in vineyards around the world before settling back into the family estate. His grandfather brought organic viticulture to the vineyards (and winery) in the 50s after noticing how his wife’s MS condition improved after he stopped using chemical fertilisers and started gardening organically. Stefan has now moved towards biodynamics. His wines are clean and expressive, perfect for ‘German doubters’.
Vineyard size 25 hectares. Organic since 1982.

Pinot Blanc ‘Cosmic Beetle’, Sander
This funky looking bottle is a great example of why more of us should be drinking Pinot Blanc! There’s a lovely ripple of stone and orchard fruit – green apple, apricot, pear – to keep fruit fans happy, but a neat vein of minerals to remind us this is very much old world in origin. A note of honey, a sprinkle of spice and a big finish complete proceedings. As the saying goes… Try it – you might like it. We do!
