Domaine Begude
English couple Catherine & James Kinglake bought the 29 hectare Domaine Begude in 2003. They identified the region of Limoux as an exciting cool climate area in South of France and have approx 60% Chardonnay , 20% Pinot Noir and 20% “aromatics” of Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Gewurztraminer & Gruner Veltliner. The stellar Franco-Australian wine making team produces elegant fruit-driven wines which are enjoyed around the world.
“The best of these (Limoux) wines represent some of the finest wine value available anywhere. It must be so frustrating for a producer such as James Kinglake of Begude, for instance, who knows that he makes truly fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir yet sees it selling for a fraction of the price of some extremely ordinary burgundies”. Jancis Robinson, MW July 2016
