Pinot Noir Rosé ‘La Marouette’
£9.49
Pinot Noir is a grape that readily lends itself to making good rosé (especially in Champagne!). This lovely example, from vineyards between Beziers and Nîmes, is made with grapes harvested at night to conserve freshness and good articulation of its red fruit characters. It’s light peachy pink in colour with notes of strawberry, raspberry and currants.
On the palate the red fruit is quite forward and reasonably full with good length. A year round wine that’s obviously perfect on a summer’s evening. Try it with a chorizo and comté cheese hedgehog bread, or red peppers stuffed with quinoa.
