Richmond Plains
Originally founded by Yorkshireman David Holmes (the Sauvignon is named after him) and now the fulfilment of a dream for Lars and Samantha Jensen who bought the estate in 2008. This environmentally diverse estate is in Nelson region at the top end of North Island where the maritime breezes aid organic wine-making. With their Pinot Noir they make both red and (faintly pink!) white.
Vineyard size 8 hectares. Organic since 1991.
