Cantina Orsogna
Cantina Orsogna is a cooperative company with 600 partners and over 1,000 hectares of vines, of which 80% are organic.
Set in the hills of Abruzzo, just 10 miles from the Adriatic, its vineyards benefit from the significant daily temperature changes and fresh breezes that result from both its altitude and its maritime location.
We are delighted to be working with the estate named ‘Italian Winery of the Year’ at Vinitaly 2012.
Vineyard size 880 hectares. Organic since 1986.

Description
Primitivo Ruminat, Cantine Orsogna
Recently DNA research has revealed that Primitivo is actually the same grape variety as… California’s flagship Zinfandel! The grape Primitivo originates from Croatia’s Adriatic coast.
This full-blooded inky red wine has aromas of black cherry and violets. Although it is hefty in flavour and alcohol, there’s a lovely softness in the mouth. Its characteristic ripe brambly flavours are backed with notes of cinnamon and cloves. Furthermore the tannins are soft and easy. A delicious, warming wine with a lingering fruity finish.
