Château la Garenne
Christian Ferbos took over his parents’ estate in Preignac in 1973 and a year later met Nicole, a bank employee. When they married she gave up banking to dedicate herself to the winetrade. They enlarged the estate and after several years realised that a switch to organic methods might help the deterioration of their vineyards. It did! Christian’s recent death left her determined to continue on the path they had chosen together.
Vineyard size 7 hectares. Organic since 1996.

Description
Sauternes AC, Château la Garenne
This fully organic Sauternes is a luscious golden blend. This is a small property in the village of Preignac, one of the five recognised Sauternes communes and said to produce the most floral style of wine, which they converted to organic methods in 1994. It’s irresistible – wonderfully apricotty, rich and honeyed with delightful vanilla and marshmallow hints arising from 6 months in new oak barriques. Great with most puddings (but not chocolate), blue cheese and pâtés.
