In 1972, after planting his first acre of vines, Roy Cook left for Germany where he met Irma (his future wife). They returned and became pioneers of organic viticulture in the UK, more recently taking up biodynamic methods also. Despite the increasing unpredictability of the English climate they produce high quality fruit for their crisp, dry white and soft, fruit-driven red.
Vineyard size 7 hectares. Organic since 1983.

Solaris Dessert, Sedlescombe Vineyard
This special edition wine was made to celebrate the highest natural sugar levels ever recorded at Sedlescombe; a result of the exceptionally dry and warm late summer weather of 2016. It’s a naturally sweet dessert wine produced from the unchapitalized (no sugar added) juice of Solaris grapes, which made up 96% of the total. Fermentation, using natural wild yeasts, was not fully completed so as to achieve a higher level of residual sugar. It has an elegant character with its smooth sweetness balanced superbly by exquisite fruity acidity. Great with cheeses or most after dinner delights, or enjoy on its own…while you can. This won’t be made every year!
