Barney and Kathleen Fetzer had a century-old vineyard in Mendocino County which they replaced with more commercial varieties. In 1968 they produced their first vintage and in 1988 built a state of the art winery and converted to organic production. The Brown-Forman Corporation bought the Bonterra label (and others) in 1992. Now Bonterra are making a committed move towards Biodynamics.
